Passport Application Form Fees for Replacements

 F e e s 

   Due to increased administrative costs and courier costs attributable to rising fuel charges , with effect from the 15th June 2006 increased passport fees will be applied as follows:

  • First time or Renewal:
    • ADULT -     £ 61.50  plus courier fee £10.50  =  £72.00
    • MINOR -     £ 41.50  plus courier fee £10.50  =  £52.00
  • REPLACEMENT (LOST, STOLEN OR DAMAGED)
    • ADULT -    £111.50 plus courier fee £10.50  = £122.00
    • MINOR -      £61.50 plus courier fee £10.50  = £ 72.00

         All transactions are payable in cash or postal orders only.  We do not accept cards or cheques

    All new passports may be collected in person, during opening hours of 10:00 to 14:30 daily.   As always, the courier fee is not therefore payable if you opt for personal collection from the time you submit your application. 

    NB: The courier fee above relates to mainland UK only.  There are additional charges for other destinations and they vary considerably from country to country.  

 

 
FIRST TIME AND RENEWAL PASSPORTS

Requirements for Adults and Minors for Machine Readable Passports (MRP)

Since 2003 all new Jamaican passports are Machine Readable Passports issued solely in Jamaica.  Applications are received by the High Commission in London and transmitted to Kingston for the production of the passports.  The new passport are thereafter sent to the High Commission for dispatch to, or collection by, applicants. 

  • Please complete all sections of  the passport application form , which may be downloaded and printed by clicking the button above, and submit accompanied by the documents detailed  below.
  •  Applicants who attend in person must present the originals of supporting documentation which will be copied and the originals returned to you. 

Please note carefully the following guidelines:


THE APPLICATION FORMS MUST BE CERTIFIED AND COMPLETED IN FULL - Applicants who attend in person for the renewal of their passports do not require their forms to be certified but must have additional photo-identification, especially if the photograph in the expired passport is very dated ( taken as a child or decades before)  The renewal of passports for minors requires certification however, even if the child appears in person.

  • All first time applicants must attend in person.  

  • Processing time is now  4-6 weeks from the date of transmission to Jamaica for renewal passports.

  • Processing time for applications which require prior certification of Jamaican citizenship  is up to one year from date of submission. As a consequence, passport applications for persons born outside Jamaica will not be processed until their certification of citizenship has been approved.

  • An expired or still valid (old format) Jamaican passport  must be submitted for a renewal. This Passport will be cancelled and returned to applicants who attend in person, or cancelled and returned by courier mail, along  with new the passport to persons who apply by mail.

  • An Original Birth or Adoption Certificate - bearing the seal and signature of the Registrar Generals Department must be presented with each application.  This is mandatory and will not be varied in any case

  • A Certificate of Citizenship or Naturalisation/Registration document must be submitted, if you were born outside of Jamaica. THIS APPLIES EVEN IF YOU PREVIOUSLY HELD A JAMAICAN PASSPORT

  • A Deed Poll for change of name, which must be registered at the Supreme Court in the UK or Registrar General’s Department in Jamaica.

  • Marriage Certificate, (even if you are applying in your maiden name). Decree Absolute, , Death Certificate of spouse must be submitted, where applicable.

  • Two (2) identical colour photographs one (1) of which should be certified by the same official (listed at 4.1) who signs Section F.  NO MACHINE PHOTOGRAPHS ACCEPTED

    • Features in photographs must not be too dark or too light. There should be a natural reflection of applicant’s features in colour and tone.

    • There should be no shadows in background (particularly under ears), glare on face or on spectacles.

    • Both ears must be visible. Hair should not cover forehead, ears or eyes.

    • No side profile, no tinted lenses, and no head covering or headbands (unless for religious purposes),

    • It is recommended that facial expression remain neutral or sober; do not smile.

    • The colour of your clothing should not be the same as the background of the photograph in order that there is clear visibility of the form of the applicant. e.g. No white shirt against a white background.

    • Please submit four (4) photographs, two (2) of which must be certified if a Certification of Citizenship application is being submitted at the same time as the passport application .


  • In the case of a minor (below 18 years), one parent must provide their passport.  Where the father’s name does not appear on minor’s birth certificate, only the mother can submit her passport and sign the application. A guardian should provide either a residence care order or a letter of consent from a least one parent along with a copy of the first five pages of the same parent’s passport, witnessed/certified by a Notary Public, a Justice of the Peace or the Consular Officer at the High Commission.

  • All applicants (except for persons under 12 years) should sign within the boundaries of the box above Section A. The signature should not touch the edges of the box and should appear the same as the signature at Section E.  
  • Fingerprints are now only required for applicant who are unable to sign their names in the case of a disability, for example.

Renewal applicants can send in their application by recorded delivery/registered mail.  If you wish to receive an acknowledgement of the receipt of your application please include a stamped SEA with the application.   Incomplete applications will be returned at a cost of £5.

ALL APPLICATIONS MADE FROM NATIONALS OUTSIDE OF JAMAICA MUST BE MADE THROUGH A JAMAICAN HIGH COMMISSION, EMBASSY OR CONSULATE AND NOT VIA PERSONS LIVING IN JAMAICA.    IT IS ILLEGAL FOR PASSPORTS TO BE SENT ACROSS INTERNATIONAL BORDERS EXCEPT THROUGH DIPLOMATIC CHANNELS

ADULTS AND MINORS - Machine Readable Passports

Please complete the passport application form noting the following guidelines:

  • YOU MUST ATTEND IN PERSON AND APPLICATIONS MUST BE COMPLETED IN  FULL AND CERTIFIED
  • Submit a written report from your nearest police station regarding the loss of your passport or a Home/Post Office Letter regarding the loss of your passport at their offices. If your passport has been damaged or destroyed, you must submit an explanation in writing.
  • An Original Birth Certificate or Adoption Certificate must be presented. In addition, the Certificate of Citizenship or Naturalisation/Registration document, if you were born outside of Jamaica.
