Registration of Minors

MUST BE MADE IN PERSON

Procedure:

  • The application should be made in duplicate, on the Registration Form, R4, which is available on the website of the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency of Jamaica: www.pica.gov.jm
  • The Form should be read carefully. For applications made in the UK, the Form must be completed by the Parent or the Guardian of the Minor and signed in the presence of a Consular Officer at the High Commission or the Jamaican Consulate (Birmingham)
  • Kindly note that the application should be made through the High Commission or the Jamaican Consulate (Birmingham)
  • Two (2) references are required to support the application. These persons should be Jamaican by birth and should not be a Civil Servant, a relative, a lawyer or an agent of the applicant.

Documentary requirements:

  • Minor’s Birth Certificate (full/long) showing parent's name
  • Minor’s Passport
  • Parents’ Marriage Certificate
  • Parents’ Passport
  • Evidence of parent(s) Jamaican Nationality (if citizen of Jamaica)
  • Work Permit of parent(s)
  • Tax Compliance Certificate of parent(s)
  • Two (2)  UNSIGNED passport-sized photographs of Minor
  • Applications must be done in person

The fee  (and an additional fee for postage).  All payments for these services should be made via direct bank transfer to the Jamaican High Commission. No cash/cheques, postal orders or debit/credit cards will be accepted.

Qualified applications/transactions will be assigned a reference number. This reference number MUST be used in making the required bank payment. Failure to include the reference number will result in undue delays in the processing of your application/transaction.

Compliant applications are processed in Jamaica within 24 months.
